About Bear Mountain:

Over the years Troop Chairman Tom McGrath has spent quite a few days hiking and camping in the Bear Mountain area in Salisbury CT and has always thought of it as a "special" place. Just recently he discovered that it was listed as one of the "Last Great Places" in the U.S. by the Nature Conservancy.

The"Explore the Last Great Places" Website is designed to inspire you to explore and protect the 200 "Last Great Places" that the Nature Conservancy considers to be some of the most unique and endangered nature preserves and sanctuaries on earth.
